item DependencyObject: The item to find the root visual for.

Return Value

FrameworkElement
The root visual if the item is part of a valid visual tree; otherwise null.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type DependencyObject. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).

Remarks

If the item is inside a control that's embedded in a native or WindowsForms window, the root visual is not a Window.
