Gets the root visual for the item.

item: Type: System.WindowsDependencyObject
The item to find the root visual for.

Type: FrameworkElement
The root visual.

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type DependencyObject. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).

Exceptions

Exception	Condition
ArgumentException	The item is not part of a valid visual tree.

Remarks

If the item is inside a control that's embedded in a native or WindowsForms window, the root visual is not a Window.
